I need to bump my "Dealing with the Homeless" thread.

Went to Austin, TX. Had a great time. Fucking bums.

The guy's brain is obviously fried as he comes up with a completely dead gaze, not even loking me in the eye. "EXCUSE ME KILLER (I had a Killers shirt on, suck my asshole Cap) I NEED BETWEEN TWENTY FIVE AND SIXTY CENTS..." Meanwhile I'm walking alongside my girlfriend, getting a quarter out so he'll fuck off, yet before I can give it to him he starts again with "BUT BEFORE YOU GIVE IT TO ME LET ME EXPLAIN WHY. I CAN GET MORE OUNCES WITH SIXTY THAN I CAN WITH TWENTY FIVE AND YOU CAN'T GET MORE HONEST THAN THAT!" He finally takes the coin and moves on to the next person, meanwhile mumbling "THAT'S WHY I LOVE THIS TOWN."

Notably the first white hobo I've dealt with in years. There was one in Houston who gave me his email address after I got him a quarter which was pretty amusing.

It's astounding how many homeless people are actually just crazy people. They shouldn't be put in shelters, they should be put in institutions. I'm not saying all homeless people are, but I have found that a lot of them are homeless because they're batshit insane. People don't realize this.

For that type of homeless person, I say deal with them the way Patrick Bateman would.

I gave money to a hobo once who literally came back to me two minutes later and didn't remember me.

I think one guy wrote a book about panhandling on the street for years. Don't remember how much he made, but I do remember hearing that the number was astounding.
