Also, it's nice to see the face/heel combo on the announce team again. Michael Cole as a heel with Josh Matthews as a face is really gelling well for me.

Jericho was hilarious "That's my influence!" .. Everything Barrett did well was because of him and he wanted all of us to know it. Then Cole says something about Jericho joining them on commentary and Jericho yells "I should! I'm better than you!"

He may well be. Wouldn't shock me to learn that he molds himself after my teachings, to be honest. Not a bad week of NXT, though I have to say that I'm not completely behind the rookies going over the pros so quickly. This show should serve more as a learning curve, with rookies falling to the obviously more experienced pros in the early goings, which would only further the purpose of the show and make for some exciting progressions. Having rookies defeat pros without much effort several times in the first few weeks seems like jumping the gun to me. No reason why Carlito shouldn't have scored the win, thus furthering this feud via Slater's desire to better himself so that he might eventually defeat his rival. Gabriel over Regal. Otunga over Miz. Slater over Carlito. All this in the first three weeks... I mean, why even bother calling them rookies if the intent is to have the apprentice upset the master in the opening act?

And a big LOL @ Americans chanting 'USA!' in a match featuring a South African and a Brit. Twits.

Difference between Gabriel and Otunga going 'over' Regal and Miz respectively is that they were in tag matches and neither victory was off their own back. Truth and Hardy set Miz and Regal up into a position for the rookies to take advantage so they really haven't accomplished anything. There's also more than one storyline going on with Miz/Truth due to their upcoming WM match so I'm not surprised by the result. The rookies have to do something that people watching will care about or they will tune out... Miz losing set up the backstage confrontation to help advance Bryan. The show's formula is working so far as far as I'm concerned.

As far as Slater beating Carlito goes, I agree that it doesn't help Carlito at all as far as his position as a 'pro' goes but that's not why he's on the show now is he?

Stop stealing Miz's catchphrases.

One of the things I've liked with Bryan's booking is having him look damn impressive, but still keeping small errors in that the Pros aren't making. It makes it more believable that the guy is just another rookie. This sort of booking would make sense with other rookie's going against Pros as well.

Has Punk had any ring time yet on NXT? Guys like him, Christian and Jericho are the lads I want to see against the rookies. Regal as well. Those four can coax a good match out of near enough anyone. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for guys like Hardy and Carlito.
